21 Weeks

21 Weeks and feeling great!
I now feel like I have a bump that in certain outfits actually looks like a little baby rather than too much food!  The little guy seemed to grow a huge amount this week.  We had our anatomy ultrasound on Thursday and Baby M is measuring exactly right for my current due date.  He showed us his stubborn side by refusing to turn his head away from my spine so they couldn't actually get all of the images that they needed and we didn't get a printout of his profile so I am going to have to go back in a week or two.  I don't really mind since it will give us another chance to see the little guy!  It was fun to watch his little limbs moving around and see his heart beating.  Unfortunately the tech doing the ultrasound didn't talk or show us what anything was unless I specifically asked about something so I'm hoping that our next one is better and more informative.
Baby Feet!

This past week Joann's was having a President's Day sale so I stocked up on some fabrics for Baby M.  I had a lot of fun choosing all of the cute fabrics for blankets and ties and carseat covers.  I also received the main fabric for the nursery that I will be using to make a crib skirt, crib blanket, and curtains so I'm excited to get started on all of my projects!  Now I just need to get motivated to start all of the measuring and pinning.
This will be the main nursery fabric.
I discovered this week that if I play the piano for Baby M, he kicks me a lot so either he really loves hearing the music or he really thinks it's awful.  I'm leaning toward him liking it because I play piano better than I sing and he doesn't do the kicking thing when I'm singing loudly :)  It's so fun to feel all of his movements get stronger!  It was funny at my ultrasound because I said I thought he was purposely kicking my bladder all the time and when we saw him he was literally kicking my bladder.  It's a good thing I love him so much because I don't really appreciate the millions of trips to the bathroom!
Fun baby fabrics!

Halfway There!

We are so excited to finally be at the halfway point of this pregnancy!  The little one decided to celebrate by growing a ton.  I feel like my stomach grew every day this week.  We can't wait to see how much our little man has grown at our anatomy ultrasound on Thursday!  He also decided to start kicking hard enough for it to be felt from the outside so I have been trying to get J to feel it but it seemed like every time he put his hand on my stomach, Baby M stopped moving.  This morning we were finally able to catch him and J got to feel him for the first time!
This past week we celebrated Valentine's Day.  J got me flowers and Ghirardelli chocolates and then to truly make it a great day for me, we got Wingstop for dinner!  I know most girls want a fancy dinner at a fancy restaurant or a movie or something like that but all I wanted were wings and fries while watching Downton Abbey :) I love Cajun wings and the fries at Wing Stop are some of the best I have ever tasted.  Wing Stop has been one my biggest pregnancy cravings. I'm very grateful to be married to a man who who really gets me!
J and I both had Friday off as well as Monday for President's Day so we spent Friday taking care of some baby related errands.  We went over to Babies-R-Us and registered which was actually worse than registering with Amazon because I didn't have reviews on everything right in front of me.  Ultimately I ended up editing the whole thing online when we got home.  If you happen to glance at our registry and you have any recommendations based on personal experience with products we would appreciate them!  I got some very helpful tips from people after I linked to our Amazon registry.  We also went to Lowe's and picked out paint for the nursery and I ordered the nursery fabric.  Since I'm planning on sewing most of the decor myself, I can't wait for the fabric to get here so I can get started!
Baby M is continuing to get spoiled by our friends.  I can't wait to see him in this sweet little hat!
Now onto the regular update:

How far along: 20 weeks- halfway there!
Baby is the size of a: Banana- about 11 inches from head to foot
Total Weight Gain:+2 lbs
Maternity Clothes: On Tuesday I still fit in to my regular jeans with them buttoned comfortably.  Wednesday I could no longer button them without squeezing so it's looking like maternity jeans from here on out.
Sleep: Sleep was pretty good this week!
Best Moment of the Week: Hitting the 20 week mark!
Miss Anything: Diet Coke
Movement:  J got to feel a kick from the outside for the first time this morning!  SO cool!
Food Cravings: Wing Stop
Symptoms:I have started having some ligament pains but nothing too bad
Have you started to show yet: I still look more like I ate too much but it's starting to get more round.
Looking Forward To: Having our anatomy ultrasound and getting to see  Baby M!  We appreciate all prayers and thoughts as this is the ultrasound that could detect a variety of problems if they exist.

19 Weeks

We are only three days away from the halfway point of this pregnancy!  I have to say that I have been feeling very good and I am very blessed not to have any complications.
This last week I started a new work assignment that is only four hours a day and doesn't involve any lifting.  I am very happy to have the extra sleep that this is giving me!  It is very strange to be in a typical classroom after having spent the last two years in special needs classrooms.  The new room has 32 kindergartners with only one teacher, one aid and me.  It is extremely chaotic!  I can't believe they can have kindergarten classes with that many students.  It is definitely a very different environment from what I am used to and I sort of feel like I spend my whole day nagging at my patient to get things done but I'm sure I will like it once I get a little more settled.
The Langham Hotel
On Friday, J and I drove up to Pasadena (LA) for a quick weekend trip to see my parents and all of my dads siblings and their spouses.  They were in town for a MusiCares event honoring Bruce Springsteen which you can read about here.  We were also celebrating my Uncle G because he was just nominated to be a judge on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals which is huge honor!  We stayed at The Langham Hotel which is beautiful and very peaceful.  I love going to Pasadena because it is filled with beautiful homes that have very well- maintained yards.  We had a really good time seeing everyone!  We all hung out at my Aunt C's beautiful home and had a relaxing and laughter filled time.  I am so blessed to have family that is so fun to hang out with!  Thank you to my Aunt C for hosting such a great weekend!
Now onto the regular update:

How far along: 19 weeks
Baby is the size of a: Small Cantaloupe
Total Weight Gain:+1 1/2 lbs
Maternity Clothes: I wore my first maternity jeans this week because I spilled glue on my last remaining regular jeans that were comfortable even when sitting.  I have to say that they are fairly equivalent to wearing yoga pants which is awesome but they absolutely would not stay up so now that my other jeans are washed I may switch back to them for another week or two.
Sleep: I have been waking up a few times a night
Best Moment of the Week: Getting to see my family! And also, receiving some adorable gifts for Baby M :)
Miss Anything: Turkey and Diet Coke
Movement:  little kicks, they are getting a little stronger
Food Cravings: Cafe Rio, which I got on our way to LA!
Symptoms:I have started having some ligament pains but nothing too bad
Have you started to show yet: There is a very small bump forming but I feel like to most people I just look like I ate too many burritos
Looking Forward To: Hitting the half way point this week!
Baby M got his first Converse and very sweet books this week :)

18 Weeks

This was a fairly busy week here in the M household.  On Monday, I had a doctor's appointment where I got to hear Baby M's heartbeat again.  I wish they would do an ultrasound at every appointment but just hearing a nice strong heartbeat is such a fun thing!  I showed my doctor the pictures from my gender ultrasound and her response was, "Yep, that is most definitely a penis" so I guess we don't have to worry that the tech who did the ultrasound was wrong.  It's nice to get a second opinion from my actual doctor to confirm that we have a little man coming.  Everything is looking really good and this has been an easy pregnancy so far so my appointment was pretty uneventful, which we are grateful for!
18 Weeks- Tiny Bump

Tuesday was J's birthday so I picked up Bundlettes from Nothing Bundt Cake, which has my favorite red velvet cake ever.  We didn't do anything big to celebrate since J isn't that in to birthdays but we had a nice evening together. He received a package from his parents for his birthday that included these little onesies.  I will have to make sure that I balance things out with some Patriots onesies before Baby M's first football season!
The biggest baby news of the week was that I finally felt Baby M's first kicks!  On Wednesday when I was driving to work I felt a little flutter that I thought might be a kick but then I thought maybe I was just imagining it.  I pushed in on my stomach and in response got the same little flutter feeling several times in a row.  It is such an awesome thing to feel!  I can't wait until he can kick hard enough for J to feel from the outside.  It is such a fun bonding experience for me and I'm sure when J feels it he will think the same thing.

This week was my last week working with the sweet patient that I have been with for this school year.  I am very sad to be leaving him and such a wonderful classroom.  My coworkers were awesome.  On Friday, they surprised me with a surprise baby shower which was so sweet!  I didn't get many pictures so those will have to come after the teacher emails them to me.  They had a cake and Baby M got more adorable little outfits, some books, and a Babies-R-Us giftcard.  They also gave me this sweet card to remember them by.
I can not get this picture to turn the right way
I will miss everyone in this class and also my patient's sweet family.  Unfortunately half of our little guys were out sick this week so I wasn't able to say goodbye to everyone.  Oh well, that just gives me an excuse to go back and visit!
Sweet Guy wasn't interested in smiling
This coming week I will be starting a new case in a mainstream classroom with a patient who can walk so I won't have to do any lifting, which was my reason for leaving my other case.  It is always a little nerve wracking to go into a new classroom with an unfamiliar patient but the new case is much closer to where I live and best of all it doesn't start until 10:30 so I will get to sleep in!  6:30 has really been killing me so I am really excited to have the option to sleep in until 9.
