30 Weeks

Yay for making it 3/4 of the way through this pregnancy!  I am really in to hitting milestones so this one made me very happy.  I have reached the uncomfortable part of pregnancy where I'm just sort of ready for it to be over.  I love feeling Baby Girl move around but the discomfort that I am feeling makes me very ready to get her here.  I am really hoping that she decides to be as nice to me as Grayson was when he decided to come two weeks early!
The last week wasn't my most productive ever.  I got all of the fabric for the pillows and curtains cut and pinned but I didn't get any actual sewing in.  My mom is actually flying in today(!) so I'm hoping to get all of my projects taken care of while she plays with G.  I also signed G and me up for MOPS (mothers of preschoolers- it's a group for moms with children six or under) and I'm excited to start that next  week and finally meet some more people here in Oklahoma!
30 weeks with G and 30 weeks with Baby Girl

30 Week Update:
How far along: 30 Weeks
Gender: Girl
Baby is the size of a: butternut squash- she should be around 3 lbs
Maternity clothes: Most definitely.
Stretch marks: Not yet!
Belly button in or out: In but there is a little "lip" that sticks out a touch.
Sleep: Sleep was pretty good over the last week.  I didn't have to get up more than once a night most nights so I was happy.  I pretty much sleep in a cocoon of pillows at this point to try to help with my back pain but I definitely wake up pretty achy most mornings.
Best moment this week: G is now walking about 80% of the time instead of crawling so we officially have a walker!  He spent most of last week wandering from room to room in our house.  He seems to have improved every day and it's a lot of fun to watch!
Worst moment this week: On Thursday I did something to my back that had me almost in tears because it hurt so bad.  Fortunately I have a great husband who is very willing to massage my back and do all of the lifting while he is home.
Miss anything: I would love to be able to take a nice long steamy hot bath right now but that isn't safe for the baby so instead I took a nice long warm bath.  It wasn't quite as satisfying as a hot bath but it still felt amazing to take all of the pressure off of my back and the jets in the tub make it like getting a massage :)
Movement: Lots of movement still.  She seems to be rolling around all the time.
Cravings: I would love a nice big ice cream sundae, particularly in this terrible Oklahoma heat.
Symptoms: Back pain (by far the worst part for me), Braxton Hicks contractions, it's getting hard to put my shoes on.  I haven't had any sort of swelling or reflux so I'm still grateful for how things are going!
Looking forward to: Having my mom here for the week!  I'm excited to see her and also to have the help with G!

New House

Since we have now been in our new house for six weeks, I figured I would post some pictures of it.  It is a four bedroom, three bathroom, ranch style house and so far we are loving it!  There is actually too much light in this house to get good pictures of a lot of the spaces.  The family room and master bedroom aren't quite as dark blue as they look in the pictures and the living room isn't quite so dark either.  We are so grateful to have found this new home!

29 Weeks

The end of this pregnancy is finally starting to feel like it isn't that far away when I think about all of the projects and preparation that needs to get done before Baby Girl arrives.  At the same time, it still feels like I have forever left to deal with this back pain and discomfort.  I officially feel huge and I can tell that Baby Girl is starting to run out of space because she doesn't seem to be able to stretch the way she used to.  That doesn't mean that she isn't still moving a ton though!  This is a very active little lady!
29 Weeks!

The last week was pretty good to us other than the heat that just won't go away.  I had a doctor's appointment where they did my gestational diabetes test (I passed!) and I had to get the rhogam shot since I am a negative blood type and J is a positive blood type.  I got to listen to Baby Girl's heartbeat and found out I'm still measuring right on for being 29 weeks.  I still really like my doctor and I am so grateful for the recommendation to use him.
28 1/2 weeks in my new maternity shorts

We had Marine Corps friends who we met in California in town for the weekend and it was great to reconnect with them!  They moved to Tulsa about a month ago so it's great to have them only a few hours away!  G really enjoyed playing with their daughter Q and he has now started walking way more than he was before their visit so I think it was helpful for him to have another toddler (she is 7 months older than him) to watch.
I forgot to take many pictures but here are G and Q sharing a snack :)

I also finally got Baby Girl's crib blanket sewn and picked up a few more fun little outfits :)  I still have plenty to do but it was nice to get my first sewing project for her crossed off the list.  I also finally got the rug for the nursery ordered so I'm looking forward to getting that.

29 Week Update:

How far along: 29 Weeks
Gender: Girl
Baby is the size of a: cabbage
Maternity clothes: Yes.  I got a pair of maternity shorts this week that I am loving because of the heat here.
Stretch marks: None yet!
Belly button in or out: In.  It is getting pretty stretched out but it still doesn't look like it will pop soon.
Sleep: Sleep was pretty decent this week.  I sometimes wake up to go to the bathroom and I'm still having back pain that makes falling asleep difficult but I figured out a pillow arrangement that is at least helping with the back pain at night.
Best moment this week: Getting to spend some time catching up with friends and also finally getting the crib blanket sewn.
Worst moment this week: It was a pretty good week but dealing with the Oklahoma heat has been a pain.  I really want to spend more time outside with G but it's way too hot for me most of the day.
Miss anything: Wing Stop!
Movement: Baby Girl loves to tumble so I feel her all the time.
Cravings: Peaches, cheese fries, wings, Chick fil A lemonade
Symptoms: Braxton Hicks contractions, plenty of back pain, general soreness when I wake up.  I really am lucky that I haven't had to deal with anything worse.
Looking forward to: Going to Oklahoma City this weekend since J has to attend a "muster" where he lets the local reserve unit know who he is since he could technically still be called back into the Marine Corps at any point during the next two years.  G and I are going to tag along so that we can do some "city" shopping.

28 Weeks

Hello third trimester!!!  I am now officially in my third trimester and I have to say that I'm glad to be nearing the end of this pregnancy.  I am feeling pretty big and dealing with a lot of back pain but I also know that it could be so much worse so I'm very grateful not to be having any serious issues!

This last week was very hot and humid again (I can't wait for fall!) so we couldn't spend too much time outside.  G and I took a trip to the city and spent a day at Target to get out of the house.  We got a lot of shopping in but I haven't made much progress on the projects for the nursery.  G decided to take short naps all week that didn't really allow me to get much done. I did manage to get the fabric cut out for the crib blanket and I bought a really cute shelf for the nursery.  I also picked up a big frame and some lace to make a bow holder for the nursery because my sweet girl already has a quite a collection of bows and headbands :)

28 Week Update:

How far along: 28 Weeks
Gender: Girl
Baby is the size of a: head of cauliflower- that explains why I feel huge!
Maternity clothes: Yes though I've mostly been wearing dresses to deal with the heat here and only about half of them are maternity, the rest are just stretchy.
Stretch marks: Nope!
Belly button in or out: In.  It looks weird but it's still in.  G loves to poke it whenever he can get to it which is kind of funny and cute :)
Sleep: G has mostly been doing better but sleep has been a bit uncomfortable with my back pain.  I finally got a pregnancy pillow which I was hoping would help but to be honest I probably prefer using a couple of king size pillows instead.
Best moment this week: Spending the weekend in Oklahoma City with J, G and a cute family that we are friends with out here!  We had such a good time walking around, enjoying the pool, eating good food, and enjoying the company of some fun new friends!  G particularly liked the ducks in the river and he would point and smile and try to get to them :)
Worst moment this week: On Wednesday, G would not stop trying to climb up on to our counter from the couch so I spent the whole day trying to keep him from killing himself.  I got a little overwhelmed because I was thinking about how much harder it's going to be with two kids that are so small but after a little breathing and a nice bath in our new jetted tub I realized that there is a reason that this Baby Girl is coming in to our lives at this time and we will make it through :)
Miss anything: I would love a nice glass (or pitcher) of sangria!
Movement: Lots and lots of movement all the time!
Cravings: French fries, ice cream, peaches, and queso.
Symptoms: A lot of back pain and I definitely started feeling Braxton Hicks contractions this last week.  It's good to know that my body is starting to prep for labor!
Looking forward to: Getting more projects completed for the nursery!  I also have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I'm looking forward to hearing Baby Girl's heartbeat but I have to do the glucose test and get my Rhogam shot which isn't fun.

July

July was our month to try to get settled in and acclimated to Oklahoma living.  G and I arrived in Oklahoma on the 2nd and then we were able to spend the 4th of July weekend together as a family.  We had closed on our house but our stuff wasn't being delivered until the 7th so we stayed in a hotel and then spent our days hanging out in a mostly empty house.  We bought a few rugs because I knew I wanted to have them in place before the furniture arrived and then we picked up a few camping chairs to sit on.  G loved having a big empty house to roam around and we enjoyed being back together as a family after our trip to Utah.  We took a trip to Stillwater to look at some furniture because we needed to buy a formal dining table for our new house.  We ended up finding not only our formal dining set but also a kitchen table that I fell in love with so we bought both tables.

On the 7th all of our furniture and stuff arrived.  I was pretty concerned about what kind of shape everything would be in because I didn't really feel like the packers in California did a great job of padding things but everything made it here with only a few scratches so I was happy.  Moving day was pretty rough with G around because they had to keep the doors open and he kept trying to escape but I needed to supervise and they needed me to check off every box that came in but we made it through without him escaping.  We spent most of the next week just trying to get all of the boxes unpacked.  It is amazing how much harder it is to get a house unpacked with a little guy around but I managed to get a lot done during naptime so by the end of the week all of the boxes were finished.  We are still working on a few decor things but I'm very happy with how the house is looking so far!

We spent the rest of the month enjoying our new house and especially our backyard.  Our yard here is much bigger than our last one and we are right next to a water feature on a golf course so we are enjoying the water view and G really likes to find golf balls in our yard.  We had some pretty hot and humid weather that I didn't really enjoy but we liked the Oklahoma thunderstorms.

We made a few friends which I am very grateful for and we tried a few new churches.  I think that we have found a church that will be a good fit for us which I am very grateful for!  The hardest adjustment for me has been not having access to nearly as many stores as we did in California, especially Target.  You can call it snobby but I just really enjoy shopping at Target and really don't enjoy Walmart but I am adjusting since that is the option I have here :)  We will probably make the trip to "the city" at least once or twice a month so that I can enjoy Target and a real mall.  Enid actually has a mall but it is lacking a lot of the stores that I like to shop at.  There is a good Dillard's but not a whole lot else.  I would say that we like it here but there are still a lot of things to adjust to!

After not having any teeth for over a year, G got his first tooth on July 2nd and then popped two more through the gums shortly after.  He has three more that I can see that look ready to come through too so we have had a few rough, restless nights but hopefully we can get a lot of it out of the way before Baby Girl gets here.  He is perfectly happy during the days but he just wakes up more than he was doing before.  G has also started (sort-of) walking.  He will toddle from one room to the next or one piece of furniture to another that is across a room but he definitely still prefers to crawl as his main mode to get around.  I just want him to be a solid walker before the baby arrives so he still has three more months to get his confidence :)  He has definitely started getting in to absolutely everything.  He has also started climbing which is very nerve wracking for me.  He has crawled from the back of our couch up on to the kitchen counter top on more than one occasion now.  His little personality comes out more and more and it is so much fun to see him develop!  He is a very happy, laid back kid and he is just a joy to be around.
